after studying fine art I moved into graphic design which, whist providing a comfortable living, did not quite feed the soul. even
though I continued to paint in what little spare time I had I was creatively frustrated and the time came to move on, to commit to my painting, to become whole again
my style is inspired by surrealism, pop art and graphite, the combination of which I believe increases the expressive power of the images.
inspiration - well, inspiration I find from many sources, sources as diverse as life itself
as I have quoted on the home page 'reality is based on flimsier evidense than we realise'.
this is the perfect starting point for my work; to question what is 'real', what is 'normal'. is reality 'real' or just a dream?
to free the mind from the structure of conventional thoughts, free to see things never seen. the title of each piece of work is, for me,
an integral part of producing the image. both evolve in my mental picture of the piece and when combined I hope that they portray
to the viewer an extra dimension to begin the journey into their own inner mind; to see the questions asked by the image.
